Join us for an enjoyable canoeing experience with your group.

With options for small groups through to large corporate, school or youth events, canoeing makes for the ideal inclusive activity.

Paddle our Canadian style, open canoes around Talkin Tarn as we guide you through basic techniques. We'll also introduce games and challenges to improve your speed and coordination. Communication is key to the success of this activity and the benefits of this are seen immediately. A number of games and challenges are incorporated into the activity depending on your desired outcomes.

Canoeing taster sessions for beginners are our speciality. Our versatile, open boats allow us to cater for groups of varying abilities. This enables people to experience a new activity in a safe and supportive environment. Adaptations can easily be made so that the boats are inclusive for everyone.

We also work with other training providers who can provide more advanced training. This is based around British Canoeing development courses on Talkin Tarn and in the Lake District.

We don't just do instructor led canoeing sessions. From Easter to the end of September we operate a popular boat hire service. Please check our Facebook Page for up-to-date information.

Our larger open canoes are available for hire on Talkin Tarn at weekends and during school holidays between Easter and the end of September. Explore the lake with your family and friends.

After paddling, you might like to take part in an archery at Talkin Tarn to make the most your day. There's also the opportunity to grab an ice cream and wander through the mature woodland.

Canoes are available when Boat hire is open at the Tarn: that's from 11 - 4pm at weekends and school holidays in the season. There are a range of boats available including rowing boats, as well as canoes and sit on top kayaks. Each water craft costs £15 per half hour.

Children are welcome to row or paddle our boats, canoes or kayaks under adult supervision. We insist that under 14s are accompanied by an adult whilst on the water. All participants will wear a buoyancy aid.
